Message on pump gas now, and have the Greddy ICs based in big part upon your recommendation. However, I must say that when we dyno'd my car March before last with the 16Gs (all day, letting the car cool between runs, wetting the ICs with water), the ICs were HOT all day - after a run, you could not put your hand on them. Then, we pull Henry's car on and hammer down back-to-back runs at the end of the day, and his FMIC is cool from beginning to end, particularly at the outlet.

I'm sure you agree that it is viable that in applications such as mine on up to Bryan's, a well-designed FMIC is indeed viable and not to be dismissed out of hand as 'just for looks' or a 'fad' as many seem to be inclined to do here.

The point is that a lot of people are shooting for modding their cars with aftermarket turbos, and at least in theory want big HP, and IMHO, more and more often, we will see that 550 RWHP Zs will be popping up left and right. To have so many people dismiss the FMIC out of hand without qualifying their statement is humorous but unfortunate.

In due time I will have the before numbers for the 18G with the side mount setup (with the 60mm IC piping, if all goes well). Then comes the Border IC and more dyno numbers. We'll see if there is any improvement. I'm sure the naysayers will dismiss any gains (if any) as being flukey dyno bullshit or me being part of the .001% that might actually benefit from an FMIC, because, hell, most everybody stays at Stage 3, right?

I believe all I was doing was a timing belt, clutch, and Stage II to Stage IV upgrade and that was gonna be it for me back some years agowhen all of a sudden I found myself telling you to go ahead and put those TD05s on there. Mods a slippery slope? Nah - that doesn't happen. There are only about a handful of Z32s out there that make 550+ to the tire on pump, right guys? Bullshit. There are people that don't even know this board exists with big HP Zs. There are people with big HP Zs that know about this board but never post. So a lot of you know about Pete and Zo and others who are active. There are hundreds of people who aren't. And more on the way.

FMIC? I say if you plan on putting down 600+, you better seriously consider it, especially if you live where it is hot.
